CalmPaws calming hood: turn the loud world down for your dog
Fireworks, storms, the hair dryer. A soft hood that folds your dog's ears in and turns the world down.
Scroll to turn it downTo you it's a bang outside. To them it's the whole world shaking. CalmPaws folds the noise down to a murmur, so they can stay close to you and breathe.
Dogs hear far more than we do. The hood rests over the ears and wraps gently, like a hand on their head, so loud moments land softer.
No batteries, no pills, nothing to learn. Slip it on before the noise starts, and take it off when the night is quiet again.
Ten seconds to quiet.
Put it on before the fireworks start, while your dog is still relaxed. Calm in, calm out.

Slip it over the head
The soft stretch band goes over the nose and settles around the neck.
-
Fold the ears in
Lay the ears flat and slide the band up so it covers them snugly. Two fingers should fit underneath.

Let them settle
Gentle pressure and muffled sound. Stay nearby the first few times so it becomes their calm signal.

Good questions.
Which size fits my dog?
Measure around your dog's neck. S: neck 25–41 cm, about 1.5–2.5 kg. M: neck 30–51 cm, about 2.5–5 kg. L: neck 46–76 cm, about 5–10 kg. The hood is made for small to medium dogs. If your dog is between sizes, choose the larger one.
Does it block all noise?
No, and it shouldn't. The hood muffles loud sounds and adds gentle pressure, which many dogs find calming. Your dog will still hear you.
How long can my dog wear it?
As long as the loud moment lasts. Stay nearby the first few times, check that it isn't too tight (two fingers should fit underneath), and take it off once things are quiet.
When should I put it on?
Before the noise starts, while your dog is still relaxed. Practise a few times on calm days with treats, so the hood becomes a signal for safety.
Is it a replacement for the vet?
No. If your dog has strong or worsening anxiety, talk to your vet or a trainer. The hood is a simple, drug-free comfort aid.
